Who is a Demisexual person?

The term demisexuality was coined in the year 2006. The online forum (Aven) Asexual Visibility and Education Network came up with the term to define people who experience sexual attraction towards people only when they are able to make an emotional bond with them. It may sound weird that how a normal man or a woman don't feel sexual attraction? But this is true as the fact that the sun rises from the east every day.

Being a demisexual myself I feel it every time. I may visually like a person but real sexual attraction can only happen when I am able to get that vibe or build an emotional bond with a person. Emotional bonding may or may not be a romantic interest through but just knowing a person on a deeper level and being able to trust them plays a key role when it comes to opening up for a physical relationship. Demisexuals just have the definite need to build that emotional bond before they can actually get naked in front of their partner. The partner of a demisexual man or woman is definitely a chosen one to who they can trust and open up. Random filings don't work for a demisexual person. Hence there is very little chance for a demisexual person to end up in a one night stand or casual hook up. In short

However, demisexuality is not dependent on people's sexual identity or other sexual orientation. A straight, gay, bi-sexual, lesbian, pansexual just anybody can be a demisexual. Demisexuality has nothing to do the sexual preference or identity. A gay man can be demisexual and may only experience sexual attraction towards a person when they start interacting with each other and feel some kind of emotional bond exist between them.

So, ladies and gentlemen if you do not feel attracted towards handsome hunk don't feel you are a weirdo. Maybe you can try talking more and spending more time can do the magic. Well, the goal of life should anyways be happy even if you just believe in platonic love. Cheers to life!!
